A pair of Brooklyn police officers were attacked while trying to arrest a man for drinking in public, with the suspect and a bystander throwing several punches at the cops in a brutal beatdown caught on camera.
The video, recorded Tuesday, shows the cops being blindsided from behind as they tried to corral a man on a Bedford-Stuyvesant sidewalk.
The officers were on patrol when they spotted Bryan Williams drinking near Vernon Ave. and Liberty Ave. around 5:30 p.m., authorities said.
As the cops approached, Williams, 29, shown in the video wearing a multi-colored coat, sprinted away. When the cops grabbed him, he took a wild swing at one of the officers, sparking a fight, the video shows.
