A man accused of killing his girlfriend in Ohio days after they allegedly pulled a hotel robbery in Alabama has apparently taken his own life during a standoff with police in Wisconsin.

Gary Eubanks Jr., 25, was located Wednesday in Milwaukee, prompting a four-hour standoff. It concluded with him dying by a self-inflicted gunshot, according to Cincinnati.com. Investigators have determined that he “was responsible” for the death of his girlfriend last week, the Cincinnati Police tweeted Thursday.

The body of 18-year-old Baylee Elizabeth Wall was found near Woodward High School in Cincinnati a week ago. Just days before her death, the couple allegedly committed an armed robbery at a Microtel Inn in Daphne, Alabama before fleeing the area in Wall’s car, police said.

Eubanks reportedly had relatives not far from where Wall’s body was found.
